About Us

Sailing Awareness Foundation (SAF) is a non-profit organized to promote educational programs to encourage high school teens to work as teams rather than dropping out of school to work in gangs. SAF also promotes sailboat racing education for high schools and colleges. SAF works in conjunction with partner sailing schools and sailing groups to fulfill it's charitable purpose.

SAF is a 501c3 non-profit which started in Nevada to raise awareness of pollution in inland waterways such as Lake Tahoe and its tributary rivers. SAF began its presence in the San Francisco Bay Area to become involved with sailing as a way of raising awareness of the history, safety needs and benefits of sailing.
